Volunteer readers are a vital part of InTouch Networks'^SM mission in reaching people who are blind or visually impaired and unable to read print media. As a not-for-profit corporation, InTouch is entirely dependent on funding provided by corporations, foundations and individual donors. Volunteers are the talent that brings the world of newspapers and magazines to a special listening audience.

InTouch volunteers are from all walks of life. To become a volunteer, you must fill out the volunteer application and mail the form to InTouch. InTouch will contact you once your application is received to set up an audition and interview. The audition consists of a 100-word pronunciation test and readings of several brief excerpts from newspapers and magazines. If you do not pass the audition on your first attempt, you may re-take the test at a later date. Following acceptance, InTouch volunteers are provided with a complete orientation at the InTouch studio located at 15 W 65th Street, NYC, 10023.
