  Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
 

The Jewish Guild for the Blind is a "covered entity" as described in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996. As such, we are required by law to protect the privacy of health information that may reveal the identity of those we serve. We must also make available a copy of our Notice of Privacy Practices, which describes the health information privacy practices of our organization and the affiliated health care providers that jointly provide health care services with us. A copy of our current Notice will always be available in the reception area of our various programs. It may also be obtained from our website at www.jgb.org or by requesting a copy from our staff.
